The Seal Record
Finite By Design pieces are secured with a tamper-evident hologram. The earliest releases were assembled and sealed in-house, a standard that endures today. Through the middle years, many pieces shipped for self-assembly, with the hologram supplied for the owner to apply, and one line of commemorative pieces (BTC 'Bull vs Bear' 4-coin set) carries no hologram at all. The seal design has changed across thirteen years and many generations. This is the reference for all of them: what each looks like, when it was used, and the series it appears on.

Verifying a piece
The seal on a piece should match the generation shown for its series. Earlier pieces shipped with a printed certificate of authenticity for the owner to record the public address; on QR-sealed pieces the seal itself carries the address and serves as the certificate. A certificate of authenticity confirms the piece is a genuine Finite By Design product, not that it was assembled in-house. For DIY-line pieces assembled by Finite By Design (available at upcharge), a Metal COA engraved with the hologram serial is issued at assembly as proof of assembly. Pieces assembled going forward are logged internally by hologram serial and order, so they can be verified against that record. For pieces assembled historically, verification is available on request by order number, traced through order history and confirmed as records allow. For historic resales, the current holder carries the record of their own piece.

The numbered first-bits window seal. Serials 0001-1000 ship paired with the 1000 fine-silver line; the wider batch spans many releases. Superseded on funded pieces by the Cold Storage Seal - Gen 1.
Standard pieces ship DIY (customer-assembled), with the hologram supplied loosely for the owner to load, fund, and track. Some pieces were assembled in-house for a surcharge; on those, a Metal COA engraved with the hologram serial is issued as proof of assembly by Finite by Design. Pieces assembled going forward are logged internally by serial; historical ones are verifiable on request by order number. In all cases the owner's Metal COA is their proof.
