Finite Genesis

Some passions are inherited. Some are discovered. Finite By Design was born from both.

Growing up, coins were always present. My father was a collector, drawn to the beauty, the history, and the craft of numismatics. That appreciation for things made carefully, issued in limited numbers, and built to outlast the moment they were created was passed down without fanfare. It just became part of how I saw the world.

Then came Bitcoin.

A new generation's discovery of something that felt, against all odds, like the same thing, scarce, meaningful, worth holding onto. The overlap between my father's world and this new one seemed almost inevitable in hindsight. A genetic predisposition toward things that are finite by nature, meeting a monetary system built on the same principle.

Finite By Design was founded in 2013 with a simple conviction: Bitcoin deserved to exist in physical form.

Not as merchandise. Not as novelty. As an artifact; something you could hold, pass down, and point to decades from now as a tangible piece of the most significant monetary event in modern history.

The earliest pieces were silver coins from a mint, some provided with a private key, others as DIY sets for the customer to assemble; however, all issued in limited numbers. They were advertised on Bitcoin Talk when Bitcoin traded in the tens of dollars, not tens of thousands. The buyers who found them then understood something most people hadn't figured out yet.

Over the years the craft evolved. A hiatus. A new administration. A return. And then a 100-watt fiber laser that changed everything.

With the laser came complete creative control. Every design, every engraving, every finish, made by hand in our studio. The pieces that followed drew from a wider world. Pop culture. Cinema. Gaming. Music. Television. Literature. Spirituality. Ancient cultures. Numismatic history. Conspiracy. Bitcoin history. Characters, symbols, and moments that people already feel something for; from the Aztec empires to the Bitcoin Genesis Block, from cult film icons to the bands that defined generations, from chakras and sacred geometry to reimagined classic coins, from beloved stories and characters to the white paper that started it all, all reborn as physical Bitcoin artifacts.

That crossover is intentional.

The Bitcoin collectibles space is small. Our goal is to grow it. The way we see it, the person who discovers one of our pieces because they love a film, a game, a piece of history, or a cultural icon is just as likely to become a Bitcoin collector as anyone who found us through a forum. Maybe more so because they came in through passion, not ideology.

Every Finite by Design piece is a bridge. On one side is something familiar. On the other is Bitcoin, its history, its philosophy, its significance as a financial instrument unlike anything that came before it. The piece in your hand is the crossing point.

Every piece is produced in ultra limited quantities. Individually numbered. Assembled with an offline generated private key sealed beneath a tamper evident hologram. Built to last, built to hold value, built to be found in a drawer fifty years from now and recognized immediately for what it is.

Several Finite by Design pieces have been independently submitted to NGC for professional grading and listed at Heritage Auctions, the world's largest numismatic auction house. Some returned TOP NGC GRADED designations. These submissions came from collectors, not from us, a testament to the collectability the pieces have earned in the market. I wish my father were still alive to see it.

We are not trying to build the biggest brand in Bitcoin collectibles.

We are trying to build the space itself.
