The Finite Anomaly

A permanent record of intentional variations embedded within Finite By Design editions. Each anomaly is undisclosed while its edition is active and revealed here once the edition is sold out, closed, or vaulted.

Not every piece in an edition is exactly the same.

Beginning with Block 0 in 2026, Finite By Design introduced the Finite Anomaly - an intentional, subtle variation concealed within a single numbered artifact in an edition. The anomaly may be hidden within the artwork, encoded into the design, inverted, displaced, or otherwise altered in a way meaningful to the release.

Its nature remains undisclosed while the edition is active. Once the edition is sold out, closed, or vaulted, the alteration is revealed and permanently documented here as part of the Finite provenance record.

The original artifact retains its standard edition serial. No additional marking identifies it as the anomaly.

During the creation of Block 0, one artifact was set aside to be recreated. Rather than simply reproduce it, the opportunity inspired something new - an intentional variation hidden within the edition.

One element of the recreated artifact was deliberately changed.

It became Finite Anomaly 0 - the genesis of a new Finite convention and the first intentional variation concealed within an edition. From that point forward, an anomaly may be hidden within select Finite editions, its identity and alteration remaining undisclosed until the edition is closed.
